
Michele Deuterman
Michele Deuterman is a transformational leader with over 25 years of experience shaping workplace cultures and driving excellence in human resources. As Elwyn's Chief Human Resources Officer, she brings expertise in talent management, cultural transformation, diversity and inclusion, labor relations, HR systems, and employee engagement. Throughout her career, she has led HR for organizations including ITG Brands, General Dynamics, and Ecolab. Her early experience includes work as a Direct Service Provider in group homes and summer programs for individuals with developmental challenges. Known for her strategic and collaborative approach, Michele has a proven track record of leading change and creating positive workplace cultures.
Michele holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Appalachian State University with a minor in Special Education. She is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) certified coach with extensive coaching experience, including at executive MBA programs for Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her dedication to mentoring and developing future leaders has shaped many careers, and her commitment to fostering inclusive and engaging environments remains a core focus of her work. She has significant nonprofit board experience and currently serves as board chair for GenerationEd, an organization that provides early learning services in Greensboro, North Carolina. She also serves on the board of the United Way of Greater Greensboro, where she was past board chair. Michele has been honored as a Top Woman in Business and a Top HR Leader by her local Business Journal organization.
