
Maurice "Reece" Washington
Dr. Maurice Washington is a distinguished healthcare executive and a proud native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Central High School and Penn State University (University Park Campus), where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. He began his career in healthcare as an emergency room registered nurse at Einstein Medical Center. He later transitioned to psychiatric care at Friends Hospital, where his dedication and leadership led to his promotion to Chief Nursing Officer in 2013.
Beyond Philadelphia, Maurice has extended his expertise to healthcare institutions in Houston and Atlanta where he served as Chief Executive officer of two inpatient Psychiatric Facilities. In 2019 he relocated back to Philadelphia and was named Chief Executive officer of Haven Behavioral Health Hospital of Philadelphia where he remained until his recent appointment to Vice-President of Adult Behavioral Health at Elwyn. He holds a Master of Science in Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from La Salle University.
In 2022 and 2023, Maurice was honored as one of Metro Philadelphia's Health Care Power Players, recognized for his significant contributions to the healthcare sector in Philadelphia. His career reflects a steadfast commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery and mental health services, both locally and nationally.
